Mission Statement
At ArtPeace therapy my mission is to offer opportunities where individuals and groups may gain essential tools and resources, that help them to live the best version of their life. I aim to inspire curiosity in the creative healing process, to hold space for and witness journeys of self exploration and discovery. Thus supporting each individual to reach their full potential.
Vision
My aim is to provide you with a safe, confidential, creative, and compassionate healing space. To guide you by providing creative ways of healing, building resilience, confidence and developing life-skills. I aim to support you in challenging negative thoughts, and unhelpful patterns and behaviours currently existing in your day-day life.

"The creative adult, is the child who survived"
Ursula Le Guin

About me
Welcome, I’m Naomi.
I’m a registered art therapist with ANZACATA, working with clients across all stages of life. While I support people of all ages, my primary expertise lies in working with children and teenagers.
I hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Care and Education from the Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland, and an Advanced Diploma in Transpersonal Art Therapy from the College of Complementary Medicine, Sydney. I am also soon to undertake a Masters of Art Therapy at the University of Western Sydney.
I offer person-centred transpersonal art therapy, as well as play-based transpersonal art therapy for children. My passion lies in holding space for those who bravely embark on a journey of healing through therapy. I deeply respect the vulnerability it takes to trust another with your inner world, and I honour that trust with warmth, compassion, and understanding.

"Creativity gives shape to our inner world, helping us make sense of our lived experience"
Cornelia Elbrecht

What is Transpersonal Art therapy?
Transpersonal art therapy is a holistic approach which recognises the many dimensions we exist in as people. Transpersonal therapy focuses on and acknowledges a persons psychological, social, cultural, biological, ecological and spiritual background. Transpersonal may be defined as "Beyond the mask" .
In transpersonal art therapy, we use creativity to map both your external and internal world. Through this process we uncover your own personal form of meaning-making through symbol and imagery. Transpersonal art therapy allows you to discover, explore and gain insight into situations/life experiences you may find hard to comprehend or discuss verbally. The utilisation of movement and creative expression combined, allows you to access your unconscious. This offers the opportunity to unfurl hurtful thoughts/patterns that may be depleting your life energy. We do this using a wide variety of creative modalities and materials such as; music and movement, puppetry, drawing, painting, writing/journaling, poetry, guided imagery/visualisations, exploration of dreams and symbols, exploration of masks, myths, and legends, mandala art, playdough/clay, and so much more.
"Expressive art therapy integrates all of the arts in a safe, non-judgemental setting to facilitate personal growth and healing"
Natalie Rogers

Who is Transpersonal art therapy for?
Everybody can experience and engage with transpersonal art therapy. Art therapy is process driven. This means we value your interaction with art/creativity, rather than the end product. As your therapist I hold space for you to reflect on your creative process and dialogue with your art. Art therapy is a powerful and insightful way of exploring and supporting a wide range of mental health areas, including; trauma, personality and identity concerns, Autism spectrum, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, decision-making, problem-solving, sleep challenges, behavioural challenges, interpersonal skills and more.

Services Available
Everyone is welcome at ArtPeace Therapy.
I work across the lifespan with all age groups, all abilities, genders, and cultural backgrounds. Both plan-managed and self-managed NDIS clients are welcome. Unfortunately as a result of the current NDIS review, I cannot guarantee that a client will be provided the right funding to work with me indefinitely. I wish to reassure all NDIS clients that avail of art therapy that the art therapy community and ANZACATA are doing everything they can to advocate both for our clients and our profession.

"Art has the role of helping children become more like themselves instead of more like everyone else"
Sydney Gurewitz Clemens

"I feel so much happier now. I am happy I made the time and keep making the time to join the art therapy groups. I haven't done anything creative since I was a child, and I felt apprehensive. But, since joining I am so much more relaxed, and self-aware. Its just an hour and a half, for me to be connected".
"Naomi's workshops are peaceful, spiritual and calming. She encourages us all to explore the wide range of materials she supplies. I would highly recommend her workshops"
